Downtown Campbell has a bright new look thanks to Bay Area artist Sonya Paz who donated her talent and time to create eye catching artwork for new banners throughout downtown. Paz created two different banner designs and color pallets to adorn the dark green antique lamp posts and some of the large street lights on the loop street gateways. City staff worked with Paz on designing art that would convey the message to “Shop with Us” and “Dine with Us” and support the downtown community.

SANTA CLARA, Calif., August 1st, 2008. Sonya Paz, a well known California artist, is pleased to announce a special exhibition and launch of the “Mommies with Cancer” organization. Sonya will be introducing her new painting “Life’s Love and Passion” based on a depiction of close family friend Cindy Nunez and her two young daughters. Cindy who lost her battle with Breast Cancer in August 2006 was a mommy with cancer. Products based on this painting will also be introduced and available for sale to raise additional money for the organization along with a generous portion of all proceeds of the exhibition will be donated to this organization.

Over 30 faux felines designed by Silicon Valley artists, including Sonya Paz whos cats will be on display at various Los Gatos locales. The cats are the centerpiece of the Touch My HeART fundraising campaign for the town's art and history museums. Sonya's cat is "Cat-Itude".
The theme of the event is "Hail Britannia" and it will include a performance by Beatles tribute group BBC.
